Pipe handrail
Shown here with A-type handrail brackets, we have finished off the ends by cutting circles of steel plate and then welding them into place. We of course then, grind and smooth the ends.
The pipe handrail is usually our most inexpensive option. The price for the straight handrail with the ends capped as shown in the first photo, $35 to $45 per linear foot with the ends capped as above. The price is also subject to change without notice. Another option for the ends is to turn the pipe under. This is more expensive, but it does look nice. Add $120 for each turned handrail end.
Shown here is pipe handrail that has an angle or a "break". Each "break" needed, is also an additional $40.
HANDRAIL INSTALLATION
Find wall studs.
Screw brackets to studs with the heavy screws / bolts /
or concrete anchors provided.
Position the handrail on the studs.
Look underneath and mark where the screw holes are.
Drill a pilot hole where the screw holes will be.
Re-position the handrail on the brackets.
Use the self-drilling, self-tapping screws provided to
attach the handrail to the brackets.
Climb the stairs.
